APRIL Volunteers of the Month!

Local footy has made its return for 2023 and we were treated to plenty of quality rugby league action right across the board.

With senior rugby league kicking off on the 15th of April and juniors getting underway on the 29th, none of it would be possible without volunteers putting in the work behind the scenes.

Whether it be taking the reigns as a junior coach, acting as a ground manager or even keeping the canteen fully stocked on gameday, every bit of help goes a long way to helping every club thrive.

April saw hundreds of volunteers across the community chip in to help their club and as a result we saw countless nominations come in for April's Volunteers of the Month award.

Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination and of course to the large number of volunteers that continue to do such great work!

Volunteers of the month - APRIL

Lauren Ramsey - Boasting a wide range of skills that make her the ultimate all-rounder, Lauren is described as someone that is extremely approachable and easy to talk too, making her a much-loved member of the Casey Warriors. Always going above and beyond for the kids and their families, Lauren has been integral to not just the team she manages but countless others at the club also.

Kristy Davis - Taking on the role of Secretary at NRL Victoria's newest club, the Geelong Sharks, Kristy has been immense for the club in its early stages. Whether it be organising social media, meetings, sponsorships, recruitment or fundraising, Kristy undertakes every task with enthusiasm and a positive vibe!

Jocelyn Katipa -Jocelyn has continued to grow in confidence since taking on the role of Secretary at the Casey Warriors this season, with her patience and willingness to learn making her a valued asset to the club this season.

Tiahnee Patterson - Described as one of the key cogs that keeps the Werribee Bears turning, Tiahnee makes the club an inviting place for new families to join and always goes above and beyond to ensure everyone at the club is looked after. A workhorse that will offer to help in just about any area, Tiahnee's love for the game, the club and its community, shines through in everything she does.

Lauren Evans - A friendly face around the club, Lauren's warmth and ability to make new members of the club feel welcome has been a massive asset to the Melton Broncos already this season. Always pitching in on training nights, Lauren is constantly helping members with training gear and registration while also proving a great help to the club's team managers.

Do you have a volunteer at your club that you believe deserves a little bit of special recognition? Then ensure you submit a nomination when Volunteer of the Month nominations open for the month of MAY.

Honoured to be nominated. Love being part of grassroots rugby league. Growing the game here in Victoria is a passion of mine. It have a rugby league team established in my hometown of Geelong and bringing communities together is what I love seeing. It’s in my blood
