With the continued, significant growth in the female game, this is an amazing opportunity for Community Rugby League Coaches who are coaching female teams, looking to coach a girls or women’s team or would just like to further their learning, to engage with 3 of the most knowledgeable coaches in the female game and discuss how coaches can help to maximise the players experience. Male or female, a favourable participant experience will ultimately assist with a positive recruitment and retention result.

From available research, there appears to be some subtle yet significant differences in how men/women, boys/girl’s approach and interpret the sporting experience overall. So, in addition to tapping into the knowledge of these well - respected rugby league coaches, who are all heavily entrenched in the female game, this Coach Update is designed to explore some of those differences and reflect on how coaches might better adapt and adjust their coaching methods accordingly.

We'll also hear from Kate Parkinson (NRL Female Pathways Coordinator - NSW), who will discuss the opportunities that are being created at grassroots level for the girls.

John Strange was appointed Roosters 2021 NRL Women's Head Coach Strange after acting as the Roosters' NRLW Assistant Coach in 2020.
