JULY Volunteers of the Month! 


July brought thrilling footy action along with the tireless efforts and unwavering commitment of our volunteers, driving the growth and success of rugby league within the community.  


The dedication and contributions of our volunteers, whether through leadership, behind-the-scenes work, or media efforts, are crucial for the smooth operation of our clubs.  


While we can only highlight a few, we are grateful for the hard work and commitment of all our volunteers.  


Congratulations to those nominated as Volunteers of the Month for July. Read on to learn about each volunteer and their impactful contributions to their local clubs.  


Courtney Fulmer Lunnon   

Courtney has made significant contributions not only to her own club, the Border Bears, but also by generously assisting other clubs in need. As a sports trainer for the Border Bears and the Wodonga Wombats, she consistently offers her help wherever it is needed. Courtney is much more than a volunteer; she is the heart of the Border Bears, bringing joy to everyone on and off the field. She is always ready for any situation, her presence is essential, making each day at the Border Bears truly special.  


Elia Umutaua   

As the president of the Doveton Steelers rugby league club, Elia takes on numerous roles, from coaching the U7s team to maintaining the club facilities. Elia is always ready to lend a hand to all the teams across the club. His kind heart and sincere intentions are clear in his dedication to teaching junior participants about rugby league during training. His capacity to inspire and his dedication to assisting others without expecting anything in return highlight a deep commitment to selfless service.  

  

Emma Martin 

Emma serves as the president of CSU Mud Dogs and co-coaches the women’s league tag team. She also manages the club’s social media, producing engaging posts each week that spotlight players, games, and events. Emma is deeply involved in every home game, managing tasks from setup and pack-down to ensuring all volunteer roles are filled. She consistently puts others' needs first and is always ready to offer support and assistance. Her dedication and commitment earned her recognition for going beyond as a club volunteer and an individual. 

 

Nunce-Sula Robertson  

Consistently exceeding expectations for the Truganina Rabbitohs U13s team, Nunce-Sula’s dedication as a team manager is valued by the club. Her careful attention to major and minor details, combined with her openness with parents, makes her a highly appreciated club member. Nunce-Sula’s exceptional management skills have been a highlight for the U13s team. “The boys are incredibly fortunate to have someone who genuinely cares and looks out for them, thank you Nunce-Sula!”  


Vincent Ezekiela  

As a parent of a junior Wolf, Vincent also serves as the senior men’s coach for the North West Wolves. He is a motivating influence for the senior team, consistently going the extra mile for the club. and dedicates his time each week throughout the season to training and supporting everyone around him. Vincent is renowned for his positivity, enthusiasm, and readiness to help, making him a cherished member of the club.
