Storm’s U17’s and U19’s both travelled to Sydney in Round 3 of the Junior Rep season to face the Bears at Hills Grammar, Kenthurst.

Melbourne’s SG Ball side recorded their first victory of the 2025 season with an impressive performance against North Sydney on Saturday.

Matt Duffie’s side got off to the best possible start thanks to Kobi Floro’s four pointer in the opening minute of the contest as they made the most of a North Sydney error off the back of a Ryley Brannock bomb.

Storm then rode a wave of momentum to put on the next two tries to jump out to an early 18-0 lead.

Weathering a North Sydney fightback, Storm held a 22-10 advantage at the break and started the second half just as they did the first, scoring immediately upon the resumption of play.

Another four try half secured Storm their first win of the season in a dominant 46-16 display.

Storm’s Harold Matthews side also made the trip north to Sydney in Round 3, falling to the Bears 24-36 in Kenthurst.

A spirited second half fightback was not enough to overturn a 0-22 half-time deficit as the home side jumped Storm with a four try first half.

The Storm U17’s responded with four tries of their own in the second half with Malachai Taupau and Jactin Samaeli sparking the side into action after crossing the line.

Max Tokava’s 54th minute try drew the young Storm side closer however a late Bears try thwarted any hopes of late comeback from the visitors.

Both Storm’s SG Ball and Harold Matthews sides are back in action at Casey Fields next Sunday 23 February and will play ahead of Storm’s NRL trial on the same day.
