Junior Rep Report: Round 4 (U17's & U19's)

Storm’s U17’s and U19’s faced the visiting Sea Eagles in Round 4 of the Junior Rep season in a Sunday afternoon of footy at Casey Fields.
A slow start for Storm’s Harold Matthews outfit proved costly as they kick started a Festival of Football at Casey Fields on Sunday.
The visiting Sea Eagles quickly jumped out to a 22-0 lead thanks to four tries in a 13 minute blitz to begin the contest. The young Storm side were unable to make inroads for the remainder of the half and went into the break with a 22-point deficit.
Wivenshalom Tyrell put the Storm side on the board in the opening moments of the second half but despite keeping the visitors scoreless after the break were unable to make further inroads.
The U17’s will travel to New Zealand in Round 5 to face the Warriors Navigation Home Stadium, Pukekohe.
Despite conceding the opening try of the match two minutes into the contest, Storm’s SG Ball side hit back with a five try first half.
Looking dynamic in attack, Matt Duffie’s side were able to repeatedly break down the Manly defence to jump out to a healthy advantage. Joseph Vela’s try on the stroke of half time helped the home side to a 28-10 lead at the main break.
The young Storm outfit were able to keep applying pressure to the visitors in the second half as the crowd continued to build at Casey Fields. A four try second half confirmed an emphatic victory with Amaziah Murgha’s try and Vela’s second putting an exclamation point on the win.
Storm’s SG Ball side will also travel to New Zealand in Round 5 to face the Warriors on Sunday.
