Junior Rep Report: Round 7 (U21's) and Finals (U19's)

Melbourne Storm’s U21s and U19s were in action on Saturday with both sides falling to narrow defeats.

Jersey Flegg

Melbourne Storm's U21s suffered their first defeat of the season, falling 26-34 to the Kaiviti Silktails in Round 7.

The visitors stormed to a commanding 22-6 lead by half-time, leaving Storm with a big mountain to climb. Despite a strong second-half, the U21s couldn’t quite close the gap.

Siulagi Pio was a standout for Storm, crossing for two tries in a dynamic individual performance.

The U21s will now regroup and aim to bounce back this Saturday when they take on the Raiders in Canberra this weekend.

SG Ball

Matt Duffie’s U19s faced a tough challenge in their semi-final against minor premiers Parramatta Eels, going down 24-12 in a hard-fought battle.

The Storm gave it everything, putting up a strong performance against one of the competition’s best sides.

Lockyer-Azile Foliola, Waka Hammond and Alize Clarke all crossed the whitewash for Storm in an impressive performance.

While the defeat ends their campaign, the SG Ball squad can hold their heads high after making it through to Week 2 of the Finals.
